Bet on yourself and your business in 2017
Greetings from Sonoma and happy December!
It’s amazing how time accelerates during this month, and how we suddenly find ourselves overwhelmed, stressed and not in our driver’s seat. And that’s why I’m reaching out to you today. I want you to be deliberate about your business growth for 2017.
I just got back from a powerfully inspirational professional development conference in Arizona. I met a ton of amazing entrepreneurs that reminded me why I do my work, and the experience inspired me to extend my reach to impact more business owners.
One of the kick-ass, brave and courageous entrepreneurs I met is about to launch her first business. Her mission inspired me. Her business plan did not. As I listened to her describe her business model, service offerings and marketing plan, I knew that her business was likely to fail, or at best, vastly underperform. It’s not that she didn’t have a gift to offer. It’s that the business was likely to run out of money before she hit her stride because she wasn't thinking about herself and the business the right way.
And that pissed me off. Badly.
Why? Because I’ve sat in that exact seat before, and I’ve made those exact mistakes. I’ve had to close one business where I lost everything, and another one which nearly bankrupted me. I know what it’s like to make that leap into entrepreneurship, and I intimately know the soul-crushing pain that comes from putting everything you’ve got on the line—and then losing it all. Worst of all, I know the self-resentment of not becoming who we wanted to be.
I want more for you.
As is the case for most under-funded solopreneurs, I assumed my 1x1 rates just weren’t in the budget for this individual. But I continued to think about her later that night and I wondered how I could do to show up and make a difference so that she didn’t have to go through the pain I went through, or the protracted recovery period of building myself back up (both emotionally and financially).
And then I thought of another woman that I know just like her, and then another. And then another. And then it hit me: why don’t I unite these women in a value-packed, short-term business optimization bootcamp, give them access to my best counsel, and help change the trajectories of their businesses so that they don’t become statistics?

Here’s what’s included:
Starting in January, we’ll connect twice per month for a one hour call on Mondays from 6-7pm (Pacific) on Zoom for five months (think Skype if you’re not familiar with Zoom).
Here’s the format of each call:
o Each member gets 30-45 seconds at the start of the call to practice pitching their offering (think elevator pitch, current specials, “a good referral for me is….”, etc.).
o One member will have an opportunity to get coached 1x1 by me while the group listens and learns from that member’s process.
o ~10 minutes where I focus on a particular concept that represents a fundamental successful “business essential.”
o ~10 minutes where you can ask me anything you want in an open forum Q&A.
Members will receive access to a private Facebook group where you can ask each other questions, provide support, and practice pitching your business. Members are encouraged to provide each other feedback and share resources with one another. Members are encouraged to stay on the line after the calls and continue to grow and work through the themes of any given week. (Ie, my participation will cease at the end of the call, but I’ll keep the room open).
Each member will receive my client insight questionnaire, as well as my business development planning sheet (these alone can be game-changing for your 2017).
In order to strike the balance between personal attention and group learning, enrollment is limited to ten women.
